On June 24, 2011, I visited Hardin, Montana, where BIGHORN was screened to a packed house at the Little Bighorn Symposium sponsored by the Custer Battlefield and Museum Association. The crowd loved the film and it received special accolades from descendant Jon Custer and historian James Donovan, author of A Terrible Glory: Custer and the Little Bighorn - the Last Great Battle of the American West. The following day, our own Custer, Steve Alexander, invited me to join him and the 7th Cavalry in the Real Bird Native American re-enactment of the battle on the original site, where I portrayed 1876 Bismarck Tribune reporter Mark Kellogg. I dodged charging horses and raging gunfire on the banks of the Little Bighorn River, dying alongside the General at the Last Stand on June 25, 2011 - the 135th Anniversary of the battle. Quite an experience!
